Refunds and cancellations
How to get your money back, how to stop a subscription, and what happens to your account either way.

Nothing is being charged today
Paid plans are not open yet: there is no checkout on this site, no subscription has been sold, and nobody has been billed. This policy is published in advance so you can read it before you ever pay, and it applies from the first paid subscription onwards.
Who takes the payment
When paid plans open, subscriptions will be sold and processed by Paddle, acting as merchant of record. That means Paddle is the seller on the receipt and the name that appears on your card or bank statement — so an unfamiliar line mentioning Paddle is us. Paddle also emails a receipt for every charge to the address you paid with; keep it, as it is the quickest way for us to find a payment.
The refund window
If a paid subscription is not what you hoped for, email us within 14 days of the charge and we will refund that charge in full. You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need to have stopped using the site. After 14 days we will still read your email and still reply — we just cannot promise the answer in advance.
How to ask for one
Email hello@loveandbutter.co from the address on your account, or tell us which address it is. Say which charge you mean — the date and the amount, or simply forward the Paddle receipt, which is quickest. We answer refund emails ourselves, usually within a couple of days. Approved refunds are returned by Paddle to the original payment method; how long the money then takes to appear is up to your bank.
What happens to your access
A refund ends paid access and puts the account back on the free plan, so the free limits apply again and the community features close with the subscription. Nothing you made is deleted: your recipes, photos, collections and meal plans stay exactly where they are. If you are holding more than the free limit of 100 recipes, you keep every one of them — you simply cannot add new ones until you are back under the limit.
Cancelling, which is not the same thing
A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the charge you have already paid. Your paid access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and the account moves to the free plan when that period ends — you are not cut off on the day you cancel. If you want the current period refunded as well, say so in the same email.
Still stuck?
